DIG Prasad Ranasinghe new CID chief

Inspector General of Police (IGP) C.D. Wickramaratne has transferred the Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) W. Thilakaratne, who is in charge of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) on Monday.

The transfer was made based on a request by the relevant officer, Police Headquarters said. 

 He has been transferred as the DIG in charge of the Special Security Division.

The DIG in charge of the Nuwara Eliya District, Prasad Ranasinghe has been appointed as the new head of the Criminal Investigation Department.

These transfers and the appointments have been made by the IGP on the service requirement under the covering approval of the Public Service Commission.
