The Ceylon Association of Shipping Agents (CASA) donated 100 push bicycles to the Sri Lanka Ports Authority (SLPA) to be used in a new cycle lane that is being constructed for port employees and port users to use these bicycles to keep them more active and healthy.

“These cycles can be used by any employee or regular port service users and this is one step taken towards creating a more ‘greener’ port’,” said its Chairman Dr. Prasantha Jayamanna.

SLPA would like to reiterate the fact that the CASA did not donate the 100 bicycles to the port due to fuel shortages. “In fact, the SLPA continues to supply adequate fuel for operations and services. It also continues to provide special fuel facilities and transportation services for all employees to report for work without interruption.”
