NYSCO and SLVTA set up language training centres in NWP

The National Youth Services Council (NYSCO) and the Sri Lanka Vocational Training Authority(SLVTA) have set up eight (08) language training centres in both Kurunegala and Puttalam districts of the North Western Province by now to equip the foreign job seekers, who wish to go to Japan, Korea, China, Germany and UK with foreign language skills including Japanese, Korean, English , Chinese, and German. Accordingly, about 8,400 job seekers are to be given language proficiency skills as per their personal choices. About 86 language instructors are deployed for this purpose and these language courses will be held for one and half years for them to master the language skills of speaking, writing, listening and reading said J. A. Gunawardena, Kurunegala District senior Director of the NYSCO speaking to Daily News yesterday (02). He added that about 8,500 job seekers are to be sent from the NWP this year as skilled workers to several European and Eastern countries under Government’s patronage.
