The GCE Advanced Level Examination 2022 will probably be held in October and November this year, Education Minister Susil Premajayantha said.
However the date of the examination will be decided after reviewing the information obtained from the Examinations Department, he added.
The Additional Secretary to the Education Ministry will gather information from all provinces to ascertain how far syllabuses have been covered. Besides data will be analysed at the provincial, district and zonal levels, paying special attention to the extent to which the relevant syllabi are covered, the Minister said. The dates for the Grade 5 Scholarship Examination 2022 will also be decided in due course, the Minister said. Education Minister Premjayanth stated this at a media briefing held at the Government Information Department yesterday (2). The Minister this year’s schools are likely to be held till December 22 or 23 of 2022 before the start of the year 2023. Measures will be taken to conduct schools on days as much as possible as there is a limited number of days remaining for cover syllabuses. Therefore he would discuss the matter with all parties in the field of education.
Minister Premjayanth also stated that efforts are being made to obtain a grant for the printing of text books required for the year 2023 and for the provision of uniforms.
