Over 5,000 vehicles identified through “fuel IMC” app

Police Headquarters have identified 5,221 vehicles that have joined multiple fuel queues through the “fuel IMC”, a mobile application developed by the Police IT Department. Police are investigating into attempts of these vehicle owners to hoard fuel.

According to Police Spokesman SSP Nihal Thalduwa, this application is used by 1,450 filling stations around the country and the Police have seen instances of vehicles joining multiple queues within a very short span of time with this application coming into effect.
