The Iran Cultural Centre of the Iranian Embassy organised a seminar titled ‘Unity in the thought of Imam Khomeini’ to mark the 33rd death anniversary of Spiritual Leader and Founder of the Iranian Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, at the Iran Cultural Centre Auditorium, Colombo 7, on Saturday (4).

It was held under the patronage of Cultural Counsellor of the Iran Cultural Centre Dr. B. Moazami Goodarzi.

Religious leaders Ven. Dr. Madampagama Assaji Thissa Nayaka Thera, retired Bishop of the Methodist Church Rev. Asiri Perera, Dr. Subramaniya Kurukkal and renowned author and veteran translator Dr. Ash Sheik S.L. Madani praised Imam Khomeini’s contribution to Iran and his great efforts and meritorious services that led to the historic Islamic Revolution.

Former Professor in Religious Studies at the Buddhist and Pali University of Sri Lanka Prof. Samantha Ilangkoon and Global Law Thinkers’ Society Advisor Dr. Junius Silva also addressed the gathering. Iranian Embassy Chief of Economic and Consular Section K. Soheil and other officials of the Embassy were also present.
