Basil to give up Seat, Dhammika tipped to enter

Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna SLPP National Organizer and former Minister Basil Rajapaksa is tipped to resign from his Parliamentary Seat, political sources said yesterday. An SLPP spokesman told the Daily News that former Minister Rajapaksa has arrived at this decision with an objective of realizing the country’s future economic plans.

He said that Rajapaksa will be committed for the future activities of the SLPP.

Rajapaksa is scheduled to address a press conference to day.

It is reported that business tycoon Dhammika Perera is likely to fill the vacancy.Sources said that Perera is most likely to be appointed as a Minister.
