Kattankudy gets new sewerage treatment plant

A sewerage treatment plant was recently opened in Kattankudy which is a densely populated area where the problem of sewerage management has been a long-standing issue

The plant was opened by Batticaloa Government Agent K. Karunagaran on Tuesday (7).

The plant was built at a cost of Rs. 50 million, funded by the Provincial Council and Local Government Ministry, using Japanese technology.

The ratepayers in Kattankudy have been asked to contact telephone number 0652245925 for any need connected with sewerage.

Meanwhile, in view of the number of local tourists visiting the Kattankudy beach area, toilets have been constructed by the Urban Council.
