Nabbed for stealing scrap metal from workplace

Two employees who had stolen 200 kilos of copper from their place of work were arrested by Horana Police.

The suspects had stolen a stock of metal belonging to a private company which converts scrap metal into useful chemicals and alloys in the Boralugoda Investment Zone, Horana. According to police, the value of the stock of metals was nearly Rs. 750,000.

The two suspects arrested were 44 and 21 in age and police have recovered a stock of copper worth around Rs. 200,000 from the stolen metal, some of which had already been sold.

Horana Police is investigating the case.
