The United States and China had talks yesterday on ways to support Sri Lanka to overcome current difficulties.
China’s Ambassador to Sri Lanka Qi Zhenhong met with the US Ambassador to Sri Lanka Julie Chung at the Chinese Embassy in Colombo yesterday.
“Met with Ambassador Qi Zhenhong about the political and economic situation in Sri Lanka. Interesting to share ideas about trade, investment, and development, as well as ways to support Sri Lankan efforts to ensure political stability & economic growth” Ambassador Julie Chung tweeted following the meeting. Meanwhile, the Chinese Embassy tweeted that Ambassador Qi Zhenhong met with Ambassador Julie Chung at the Chinese Embassy yesterday and had a friendly discussion on broad topics of mutual interest.
“China and the United States could work together to help SriLanka overcome current difficulties,” the tweet said.
