Vishva Parami the athlete turned cricketer from Wennappuwa

All round Cricketer, Right hand middle order bat, Medium pace bowler, Safe Fielder, , former member of the under 15 National Squad and member of the under 15 all island division one Champions team, Athlete and Volleyball player Vishva Parami Rajapaksha has brought honour and glory to his alma mater with his deeds in the field of sports.

Vishva who hails from Lunuwila was born on 12th October 2004 and his first school was Anuruddha Maha Vidyalaya Lunuwila and he was admitted to this school in 2010 when M.M.Dharmappriya was the Principal. When he was in grade three he took part at the School Sports Meet and swept the board in 50, 75 and 100 metres and he was the under 8 Champion in the Divisional Meet he was placed third in all these three events. Then in 2013 he shifted to Sri Gunaratne Maha Vidyalaya and at their Sports Meet he came third in 100 metres and in the following year he came first in 100 metres and won the Putt Shot event too and in the Divisional Meet he came second. He played for the under 15 Volleyball team and he was the Vice Captain and representing the Ministry of Education Tournament he Captained the team In 2017 he was admitted to St.Joseph Vaz College, Wennappuwa and his parents Sugath Rajapaksha and Chinta Croos handed over their son to the School Cricket Coaches Tharanga Liyanapathirana and Nuwan Ruchira. Same year he was selected to the under 13 second year team and he scored 487 runs with six fifties and claimed 29 wickets

He played for under 15 team in 2018 and in his first year he scored 231 runs and grabbed eleven scalps and in his second year he got 390 runs with two centuries and a fifty and took 9 wickets and he was selected to play in the Prima Cup for Puttalam District and North Western Province and he was selected for the under 15 National Squad and his Coach was Amila Sampath. Due to Coronavirus he was not able to play in his under 17 first year and in his second year he scored 212 runs with a century and a half century.

He was selected to the first eleven team as an under 15 player and in his first year itself he scored 240 runs with a century and claimed six wickets and there was no cricket in 2020 due to Coronavirus and in 2021 playing in the Schools Limited Over Tournament he got 187 runs with a fifty and this year he played for the Big Match and the Limited Over match against their arch rivals St.Marys College Chilaw.
