Canadian PM tests COVID positive for second time

CANADA: Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Monday said that he has tested positive for COVID-19 for the second time.

The positive test came after he met with US President Joe Biden and other leaders at the Summit of the Americas in Los Angeles. Biden took a “family photo” with Trudeau on Friday and met with him on Thursday.

CHINA: China has started constructing a planetarium at the world’s highest altitude in Tibet for exploration of the universe at the “roof of the world”, the official media reported on Monday. The planetarium, scheduled to be completed in 2024, is expected to receive over 100,000 visitors annually. Toronto van attacker sentenced to life in prison

CANADA: A man who plowed a rented van into dozens of people on a busy Toronto street in 2018, killing 11, was sentenced to life in prison on Monday. Alek Minassian, 29, was found guilty last year of murdering 10 people and attempting to murder 16.

55 people killed in Burkina Faso attack

BURKINA FASO: Gunmen killed at least 55 people over the weekend in northern Burkina Faso, authorities said Monday, the latest attack in the West African country. Attacks linked to al-Qaida and the Islamic State group are soaring in Burkina Faso.
