The Palamuwen Job bank portal was launched recently in Colombo. This will fulfil the long felt need for a platform where job seekers would be able to advertise themselves in order to attract the attention of recruiters and receive notification of the vacancies that best suit them without having to keep searching for their dream job.

On the other hand, recruiters have been struggling to pick the right candidates out of the bunch of CV’s that they receive, including both relevant and irrelevant ones, whenever they advertise for a vacancy. This has inadvertently affected the quality of recruitment and selection processes for many organizations.

“It has become extremely difficult to find suitable resources for many of our day-to-day activities that require the involvement of an expert/skilled person, preferably from the desired locations. There is a need for a user-friendly digital database which is accessible just from a smart phone to find resources wherever you are,” Priyantha Perera, Chairman, Palamuwen Job bank said.

Palamuwen.Com would provide answers to these issues by introducing a portal that is truly a job bank accessible to all, benefiting not only the employers but also the job seekers. It will allow job seekers to upload their profiles on Palamuwen.Com and encourage organizations to find suitable candidates through this portal. Which would confirm their attempt at providing equal opportunities rather than such policies are confined to company websites and used merely to influence the perception of society of their ethical stance.

We expect to create a large database of job seekers and freelancers whereby employers could filter out candidates as per their exact requirements rather than having to review many applications that they receive when advertising for a vacancy. One of the unique features of Palamuwen.com is that it is being published in all 3 languages, ensuring no discrimination based on language.

Our Freelance section is accessible by all at no cost from anywhere and will certainly be able to find resources easily without getting frustrated in locating the suitable freelancers to solve their domestic and technical issues.

Mobile apps are one of the major elements of modern tech that are consistently changing how consumers shop and satisfy their needs. Consumer expectations also grow with the increasing pace of technological advancement.

Within a short period after the launch of Palamuwen.com, our services will be expanded to include overseas job opportunities. One of our primary goals is to assist local talent in taking advantage of these overseas opportunities, with the help of the foreign ministry and the Bureau of Foreign Employment, as a way to contribute to the national economy and improve inflows of much-needed foreign currency into Sri Lanka.
