Madhu festival held after three years

The annual festival of Mannar's historic Maruda MadHu Church ended yesterday morning with the final religious ceremonies attended by a large number of devotees.

After three years, the MadHu festival was held in a grand manner this year. Several special trains were deployed to bring devotees to the festival from other provinces.

The final service was held at the Madhu Church under the leadership of the Bishop of Mannar, Emmanuel Francis yesterday. A special prayer was held seeking protection for the global community against COVID-19 and for peace and harmony in Sri Lanka.
