Team under SP to suppress gang war in Ambalangoda

Southern province Senior DIG Ajith Rohana yesterday said that a 40-member police team has been assigned to the Ambalangoda Police Station to suppress the ongoing killing spree in the Ambalangoda police division by hunting down the killers. He said that this police team consists of officers skilled in going after underworld criminals. Rohana also said that these officers have been given motorcycles and other vehicles needed to arrest criminals.

Rohana also mentioned that a Superintendent of Police was also appointed to investigate the murders that happened in Ambalangoda by supervising these officers. The crime suppression and investigation work in Ambalangoda has been entrusted to Superintendent Mahesh Kumarasiri.
