Former President Gotabaya returns

Former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa returned to the country from Thailand last night, sources close to Rajapaksa told Daily News.

Rajapaksa left the country for the Maldives on July 13 following the masses storming his official residence in Colombo seeking his resignation.

He left for Singapore on the next day, from where he announced his resignation from the position. Thailand was his final destination, where arrived on August 11.He returned to the country exactly after 51 days from his departure.
