Pakistan beat India by five wickets in their Super Four game of the Asia Cup at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium yesterday. Chasing 182 for a win, Pakistan overhauled the target with one ball to spare. Mohammad Rizwan top-scored with 71 off 51 balls while Mohammad Nawaz chipped in with 42 as Pakistan reached 182 for 5 in 19.5 overs.

For India, all the bowlers — Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Ravi Bishnoi, Hardik Pandya, Arshdeep Singh and Yuzvendra Chahal — took a wicket apiece. For Pakistan, Shadab Khan picked up two wickets for 31 runs, while Mohammad Hasnain, Haris Rauf, Naseem Shah and Mohammad Nawaz took a wicket each. Mohammad Nawaz was the Man of the Match.

Earlier, the experienced Virat Kholi top-scored with a solid 60 off 44 (4 fours and 1 six) and completed the 32nd T20I century of his career as India made posted a challenging total of 181/7 in 20 overs against arch-rivals Pakistan.

Virat Kohli completed the 32nd T20I century of his career.

Openers K.L Rahul (28) and skipper Rohit Sharma (28) provided a strong start to the Indian team adding 54 runs just in 5.1 overs and Kholi was able to continue on the momentum. Their batting display improved against the Pakistan bowlers as they were unable to build enough pressure on the batsmen. The 23-year-old leg spinner Sadab Khan was the only successful bowler taking 2 for 31.

There are no matches today, which is a rest day, but the tournament will resume on Tuesday. Sri Lanka will meet India in their second Super Four match at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium at 7.30 pm (SL time).
