US Agency for International Development (USAID) Administrator Samantha Power will make an official visit to Sri Lanka tomorrow (10).
The US Embassy in Colombo said that the purpose of the two-day visit is to discuss problems related to the prevailing economic crisis and strengthen the development partnership between the United States and Sri Lanka. She will meet President Ranil Wickremesinghe, other political leaders, and high-rank officials during her stay.
Power, when she visited New Delhi in July, said the Joe Biden administration and the Indian Government are “deeply concerned” by the economic collapse and crisis that has befallen the Sri Lankan people.
