Women’s Youth League: Colombo North, Galle One register wins

Colombo North and Galle One teams won their matches on the third day of the ongoing Women’s Under 19 Youth League organised by Sri Lanka Cricket at RDICS in Dambulla yesterday.

In the match between Colombo North and Galle Outer, Galle batted first after winning the toss and scored 89 in 18.2 overs. Openers Hasini Wijesinghe’s 23 off 22 balls, which included 4 fours and Imalshi Yasara’s 19 off 12 (3 fours) gave them an easy start. Nikesha Wijesinghe also contributed with a handy 23 off 15 (4 fours) to help Colombo North achieve the target in just 11.5 overs with the loss of 4 wickets.

Umaya Rathnayake was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 4/9, and Vidushika Perera with 2 for 9 in 4 overs. She received the Player of the Match award. In the other match, Galle One won by 91 runs over Dambulla. Sumudu Nisansala top scored with 70 off 57 (10 fours), while opener Sanjana Kavindi added 54 runs (6 fours, 1 six) as Galle reached 154/1. In reply, Dambulla could only manage to get 59/6 in their 20 overs. Vihara Sewwandi picked up 3 for 9 in her 4 overs.
