Mobile signature campaign calling for repeal of PTA

An islandwide mobile signature campaign calling for the repeal of the Prevention of Terrrorism Act (PTA) from from Mavittapuram, Kanthaswami Kovil in Kankesanthurai to Hambantota will begin from 9 a.m. today (10).

An islandwide signature campaign has been launched calling for the repeal of the Prevention of Terrorism Act brought in 1979 as a Temporary Provisions Act for six months but continues to be in operation for over 40 years, a joint release issued by the Illankai Thamil Arasu Katchi, Justice for All and Allaince Trade Union said yesterday.
