Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena as Leader of the House saved Rs. 1,568,000 from his official fuel allowance from January 2020 to July 2022 and handed the amount over to Leader of the House Susil Premajayntha on Friday at the Prime Minister’s Office in Parliament. The Secretary to the Leader of the House and the Coordinating Secretary (Parliamentary Affairs) to the Prime Minister were also present.

The Premier when he was the Leader of the House has reduced the expenses for the printing cost for annual reports of the Ministries, Corporations and other government institutions, which are to be tabled in Parliament by introducing CDs instead of printed copies. This system saved government money for printing reports.
