Man gets 12 years’ RI for molesting grandchild

A 62 year-old man who pleaded guilty for abusing his granddaughter was yesterday sentenced to 12 years’ Rigorous Imprisonment by the Colombo High Court.

The accused was also imposed a fine of Rs.25,000 while was ordered to pay a compensation of Rs.300,000 to the victim girl by the Colombo High Court.

The judgement was delivered by Colombo High Court Judge Navaratne Marasinghe.

State Counsel Shakthi Jagodaarachchi appeared on behalf of the Attorney General.
