Plenty of job opportunities in South Korea - State Media Minister Bandara

State Minister of Media Shantha Bandara yesterday said that there are plenty of employment opportunities for Sri Lankans in South Korea and those seeking jobs there can now apply provided they are proficient in the language.

He further pointed out that no NVQ Certificate is required to apply for these jobs and persons below 45 years with experience in the field are eligible to apply. The State Minister was speaking at the Cabinet media briefing held at the Government Information Department yesterday. The salary scale for these jobs starts from Rs.850,000 and any interested person can visit the Foreign Employment Promotion Bureau office in Nawala and obtain the relevant details from the investigation committee. State Minister Bandara further added that there is a programme initiated by the State Banks to provide loans to people seeking foreign employment.

State Minister Bnadara pointed out that there are a lot of job vacancies in the nursing sector while talks are also underway with the Japanese Government to seek job opportunities in the construction and other sectors. Sri Lankans will not be denied visas for work from any country.
