Teldeniya police have saved a youth, who has been detained as a hostage in a jungle by force by one of his relatives. Police have taken a suspect into custody in connection with this incident. The suspect is said to be a close relative of the youth aged 17.
The suspect has detained the boy forcefully in the jungle for 8 hours after he tied the limbs of the boy.
According to the police the suspect had taken the boy as a hostage demanding to return his wife back home. His wife has gone to her parents’ home after several disputes with the suspect. With the complaint received 119 hotline number the Teldeniya police took measures to save the boy and to take the suspect into custody after conducting a raid in the jungle situated in the Senarathwela area in Kandy.
