A person who came as a patient to a private medical centre located on the Ahangama Imaduwa Road had pointed a knife at the doctor, stolen Rs.13,000 and also had snatched the gold chain worn by the doctor's assistant, Police said.
According to Ahangama Police, the robbery took place on Sunday night (18).
The doctor told Police that the robber was a young man wearing shorts.
The doctor has told the Police that the robber had met the doctor as a patient before committing the robbery and had received prescriptions for a medical condition, he said.
It is said that there were many patients in the medical centre at the time. The man had waited outside and had entered the doctors room when there were no patients and committed the robbery. Police are conducting investigations.
