Sri Lanka Book Publishers Association President Samantha Samarasinghe said yesterday (19) that around 500,000 people have visited the Colombo International Book Fair-2022, so far.
The book fair started on the last 16th at the Bandaranaike International Conference Hall premises in Colombo and will continue until September 25 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
He said that the book exhibition being held these days is very successful and there are about 400 stalls in the exhibition grounds for people to buy books.
The Chairman said that if people visit the book fair also on other days of the week, other than the weekends, traffic congestion can be reduced.
He said that measures were taken to extend the exhibition till 8 p.m due to public requests.
