Joes -Trinity clash in Under 17 Division One final today

St. Joseph’s College Colombo will meet Trinity College Kandy both unbeaten teams in the final of the Under 17 division One inter schools cricket tournament at Surrey ground Maggona today. This tournament is conducted by Sri Lanka Schools Cricket Association.

St. Joseph’s College Colombo advanced to the second round as champions of their group in the first round. They beat Holy Cross College Kalutara in the second round.and Mahanama College Colombo in the pre quarter final. Not a ball was bowled in the quarter final against St. Sebastian’s College Moratuwa due to heavy rain but the Joes advanced to the semi final according the higher bonus points and beat Gurukula College Kelaniya in the semi final.

Trinity College Kandy advanced to the second round as champions of their group in the first round. They beat D.S. Senanayake College Kandy in the second round and St. Anthony’s College Wattala in the pre quarter final. Not a ball was bowled in the quarter final against

Mahinda College Galle due to heavy rain. Trinity advanced to the semi final according the higher bonus points and beat S. Thomas’ College Mt. Lavinia in the semi final.

St. Joseph’s College Colombo will be led by Kenneth Liyanage and Trinity College Kandy will be led by Malith Rathnayake.
