Malaysia invites SL to showcase country in Malacca

Malaysia has offered office space to Sri Lanka to set up a Sri Lankan Cultural and Tourist Promotion Centre in Malacca.

Environment Minister Hafiz Naseer Ahamed who returned to the island after attending a recent climate conference in Kuala Lumpur told the Daily News that the Malaysian officials were interested in hosting such a centre in Malacca to promote Sri Lankan interests.

The Minister accompanied by Sri Lankan High Commissioner in Malaysia, Air Chief Marshal Sumangala Dias had a fruitful meeting with Malacca Governor Dr. Haji Mohd Ali bin Mohd Rustam.

The Minister said that Malacca has attracted 18 million tourists last year and this is a good opportunity for Sri Lanka to showcase its products and services to international tourists for visits and investment.
