Market turns green with turnover reaching Rs.6 Bn

Colombo bourse turned back to the green territory yesterday whilst recording a healthy turnover close to Rs.6 bn.

However heavy foreign buying over Rs.2 bn was witnessed in Expolanka Holdings whilst domestic investors took positions in selected fundamentally stable counters. Thus, All-Share Price Index decreased by 17.4 points (+0.2%) to close at 9,861.6 for the day whilst S&P SL20 Index also gained by 24.9 points (+0.8%) to close at 3,181.9. Commercial Bank,ACL Cables,

Hatton National Bank, Sampath Bank and Lanka IOC remained as the top negative contributors to the ASPI during the day. Further, broader market’s total turnover stood at Rs. 5,864.9 mn against the 12-month average daily turnover of Rs. 4,083.9 mn, whilst the volume traded for the day was 118,455.5k against the 12-month average daily volume of 192,230.0k.
