PUCSL begins quality testing of Petrol and Diesel

The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka (PUCSL) has started testing the quality of Petrol and Diesel, as it has received many public complaints. PUCSL Chairman Janaka Rathnayake told the Daily News yesterday that he deployed a team to collect samples of Petrol and Diesel which are being distributed in the country.

He said the Commission has lately received a lot of complaints from all around the country over the change of quality, quantity, colour and even the smell of fuel.

“The samples will be collected from Colombo and the suburbs. The laboratory tests on them will be carried out by independent bodies. The process has begun immediately and the results will be made known in due course,” he said.
