Shunting train crashes into old building

An old building at the Dematagoda railway yard was damaged after a train brought there for maintenance purposes crashed into it reportedly after the driver fell asleep.

The train reportedly had gone off the railway track and crashed into the building. Investigations revealed that the train driver had dozed off while shunting it.

The Railway Department is conducting an internal investigation into the accident. No one was injured in the accident.
