CPTSL owes Cement Corp over Rs.184 mn

Renting out tanks in KKS factory

The Sri Lanka Cement Corporation has so far failed to collect more than Rs.184 million from Ceylon Petroleum Terminal Storage Limited (CPTSL) for renting out two oil tanks and pipe systems at Kankesanthurai from 2010 to December 31, 2021, National Audit Office report said.

According to the report of the National Audit Office, the two oil tanks and pipe systems belonging to the Cement Corporation were given to the Ceylon Petroleum Storage Terminal Limited without entering into a written agreement.

The National Audit Office has recommended that action should be taken to recover this amount as soon as possible and the management of the Cement Corporation has informed the National Audit Office that due to the current situation in the country, it is not practical to collect this amount.
