Body floating in Mahaweli River identified as male nurse of Army Medical Corps

Katugastota Police said that the body found floating in the Mahaweli River near the Dodomwala Bridge in Katugastota recently was that of a male nurse of the Army Medical Corps.

The deceased has been identified as Neranjan Bandara Randeniya, a 36-year-old man who had been working in the Vavuniya Army Camp of the Army Medical Corps.

His body was found floating in the Mahaweli River on November 18 by Katugastota Police.

The post-mortem was conducted at the Kandy National Hospital yesterday (21) and since it was not possible to find a specific cause of death, the body parts were sent to the Peradeniya University.
