Woman who threatened businessman granted bail

A woman who was arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department in connection with an incident of threatening a businessman and trying to obtain Rs.7.5 million and two houses by force, was ordered to be released on bail.

The order was issued by Colombo Additional Magistrate T.Ilangasinghe yesterday. She was released on a surety of Rs.10 million.

The Magistrate also imposed a travel ban on her as well. The Magistrate warned the suspect not to threaten or coerce the complainant over the phone or otherwise.

The Attorney-at-Law appearing on behalf of the suspect informed the Magistrate that the complainant had a close relationship with her client and the suspect had children by him.
