A motorbike rider was killed and the pillion rider injured in a head-on collision with a lorry near the Pimbura Hospital on the Bulathsinghala Agalawatta Agalawatta Road.Police said that the victim and the injured are brothers. The deceased has been identified as Munasinghe Arachchige Mangala Munasinghe (62) of Mahagama.
The pillion rider who was admitted to the Pimbura District Hospital was later transferred to the Nagoda General Hospital.
The lorry driver and his assistant who had also sustained injuries were also hospitalized. Police said that the lorry skidded off the road and hit an electricity pole following the accident. Police said that the carelessness of the driver had caused the accident. Agalawatte Police are conducting investigations.
