President venerates Kotmale Mahaweli Mahaseya Temple

President Ranil Wickremesinghe visited the Kotmale Mahaweli Mahaseya Temple and participated in religious rites on Friday evening.

The Maha Sangha led by Chief Incumbent of the Mahaweli Mahaseya Temple Ven. Thispane Jinananda Nayaka Thera chanted Seth Pirith and invoked blessings on the President. The President making an observation tour within the premises of the Sacred site inspected the development activities there.

Subsequently, the President had a discussion with the members of Maha Sangha including Ven. Thispane Jinananda Nayake Thera. The Kotmale Mahaweli Mahaseya Temple was constructed in the early 1980s under the Accelerated Mahaweli Development Programme which was a concept of the late Minister Gamini Dissanayake.

Former United National Party National Organiser Navin Dissanayake was present.
