Royal, St. Peter’s and Richmond into semis

Royal College Colombo, St. Peter’s College Bambalapitiya and Richmond College Galle advanced to the semi final of the Under 13 division One inter schools cricket tournament conducted by Sri Lanka Schools Cricket Association with the sponsorship of Sri Lanka Cricket.

Royal College won the first inning against Dharmapala College Pannipitiya in the quarter final played at Ananda Mawatha Colombo. Nithesh Jayasinghe of Royal College Colombo scored unbeaten 100 runs in 114 balls with 14 boundaries. Mahiru Kodithuwakku claimed five wickets for 18 runs.

Richmond College Galle won the first inning against St. Joseph Vaz College Wennappuwa in the quarter final played at Reid Avenue Colombo. Tharul Shanilka of Richmond College claimed five wickets for 14 runs.

Quarter final match was tied between St. Peter’s College Bambalapitiya (A) and Trinity College Kandy at Lyceum International School grounds Panadura. Bonus points equal in the match. St. Peter’s College Bambalapitiya (A) advanced to the semi final according to the higher average points from first round to pre quarter final round.
