Zahira College, Matale and Dharmadutha College, Badulla shared the Boys title while Sri Sangamitta BMV, Matale and Musaeus College shared the Girls title at the 2022 Sri Lanka Schools Under-16 Hockey Tournament held at the Dambulla National School Ground.
In the Boys’ Tournament Cup final Zahira College and Dharmadutha College figured in a 0-0 draw while the Girls’ Tournament Cup final between Sri Sangamitta BMV and Musaeus also ended in a 0-0 draw.
Meanwhile, St. Thomas’ College, Matale and Hindu College, Matale emerged joint champions in the Boys’ Plate Championship when their final ended in a 1-1 draw.
Sirimavo Bandaranaike Model School, Matale won the Boys’ Bowl Championship when they defeated Elwala MV, Matale 5-3 in the final encounter while Dharmaraja College beat Trinity College 1-0 in the Boys’ Shield Championship final.
In the Girls’ Plate final Christ Church College, Matale beat Panadura BMV 1-0 in the final, Visakha Vidyalaya, Colombo beat Dambulla National School 4-3 in the Girls’ Bowl final and Girls’ High School, Kandy edged out Seevali MV, Weragama 1-0 in the Shield final.
