Kandy schools have already started rugby practices for the coming season which most probably will kick off in end of March. The schools who are at practices are Kingswood College the school which takes pride for being the first school to play rugby, when they were known as Kandy Boys High School and has a proud rugby history. Then the second school from Kandy to start the game Trinity College are blessed with talented players followed by St. Anthony’s College , Dharmaraja College, Vidyartha College, St.Sylvester’s College , Wariyapola Sri Sumangala College, Sri Rahula College All schools are under good coaches and are sure to come out with good teams to play good quality rugby.

Antonians do well
St. Anthony’s College under 14 rugby side were runner-up in the All Island under 14 rugby cup tournament, they went down in the finals to Wesley College, who beat them by 10 points to 7.
Antonians beat Mahanama
St. Anthony’s College have entered the semi final of the under 13 division one inter school cricket tournament, on Sunday this match was played at Veyangoda. And now in the semif inals will meet the Royal College XI.
St. Anthony’s College 182 for 5 declared in 48 overs. Vithange Nethusara 57, Nishantha Karunaratne 55, Sanithu Guanthilake 22, Vihanga Perera 2 for 28, Nethuka Kulathunga 2 for 33.
Mahanama College – 140 in 39.1 overs– Vihanga Perera 58, Yenula Hewavitharana 2 for 10. Adeesha Ratnayake 2 for 11and Sisal Hemaka 2 for 24.
