President condoles passing away of Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI

President Ranil Wickremesinghe visited the Embassy of the Holy See (Vatican Apostolic Nunciature) in Colombo yesterday morning (4) to express his condolences on the passing away of Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI who was called to rest last Saturday (31) in the Vatican. The President met with Vatican Apostolic Ambassador to Sri Lanka Rt. Rev. Brian Udaigwe, and engaged in a brief conversation with him. President Wickremesinghe also signed the condolence book on the death of Pope Benedict XVI.
