Solitary sick man burnt to death in the shed

A shed at Katugoda in Galle caught fire early yesterday (4) and a person who had been inside it was burnt to death, Galle Harbour Police said.

The deceased was a 51-year-old sick person residing on Katugoda Mosque Road.

The person who was suffering from an illness had been living alone in the shed near a house and yesterday morning when the owner of the house looked out, the shed had been on fire and the man was found dead on the bed.

The owner of the house in turn had informed the police. Galle Harbour Police are conducting investigations.
