The 10% Port and Airport Development levy imposed on static converters and inverters has been removed from January 1. Finance State Minister Ranjith Siyambalapitiya said in a twitter message that the decision was taken with the aim of encouraging the production of electricity through renewable energy sources.
Accordingly, the State Minister said that the 10 per cent Port and Airport Development levy on static converters and inverters imported under HS code number 8504.40 has been exempted.
