Rangiri Dambulla National School, Matale under 14 stickers were awarded a “ Gold Star”in group “ D” at the Girls All Island Schools Hockey tournament, organised and conducted by the Sri-Lanka Schools Hockey Association, played in Matale recently.
In their matches, they beat Vijaya Balika, Matale by 2 goals to nil , Ratnawati Balika Vidyalaya, Gampaha by 3 goals to nil and drew with Seethadevi Balika Vidyalaya , Kandy and Janadhipathi Balika Vidyalaya, Nawala nil all to pocket this title along with Janadhipathi Balika Vidyalaya, Nawala, who also was in the same group.
The, Principal, Janaka Wijesinghe has taken a great effort to start Hockey from the grassroot level and these youngsters has proved their talents as an upcoming team .
