Rear Admiral Neville Ubayasiri retires

Rear Admiral Neville Ubayasiri relinquished his Naval duties to which he was committed over the past 34 years.

Navy Commander Vice Admiral Priyantha Perera along with the Board of Management extended best wishes to the retiring senior officer who is celebrating his 55th birthday today. He was accorded a Guard of Honour in accordance with the Naval traditions. Fellow Naval officers made their formal farewells to the retiring senior officer before he was sent off amidst the cheers of Naval personnel.

Rear Admiral Neville Ubayasiri joined the Sri Lanka Navy as an Officer Cadet of the 07th intake of Kotelawala Defence University in 1989. He has held Command appointments of a number of ships, craft and establishments as well as the 4th Fast Attack Flotilla during his illustrious career. Deputy Director Naval Welfare, Captain Operations Department (East), Deputy Director Naval Inspectorate, Captain Sea Training, Deputy Area Commander Southeastern Naval Area, Director Logistic Management Cell and Director General Services are some of the other key appointments that he held.
