Equal all time record price of Rs.2,550 per kg was recorded for a PEK1 grade manufactured by Uplands Tea Factory, at this week’s E-Auctions held on January 3 and 4 2023.
Uplands Tea Factory is a flag bearer known for producing good quality teas in the Medium Grown sector andis situated in the Gampola, Kandy District. The Proprietor of this factory P. Sawarimuttu Retti & Sons Ltd and the team is keen on producing premium quality teas for weekly tea auctions which was bought for premium blends by the buyer community.
The above tea was purchased by Shan Teas (Pvt) Ltd, a leading tea exporter in Sri Lanka. The selling broker of this tea was Mercantile Produce Brokers (Pvt) Ltd.
