Massive Rs. 72 Bn will be spent by three Parties for LG Polls - Economic analysts

A group of independent economic analysts have highlighted that billions of money have to be spent on election if the election is held.

While submitting a letter to the government they have questioning that if the local government election is held, the three main political parties would have to bear a minimum expenditure of Rs.72 billion rupees and why the political parties who shed crocodile tears for the people’s suffering cannot use that money to quench the hunger of the people at this moment.

In addition to the direct cost allocated by the government to the election the candidates of the political parties will have to bear this cost for the elections.

The economic analyst team, presenting the facts with numerical data, states that assuming that one candidate spends at least three million rupees in the local government elections, Rs.24 billion will have to be spent for the 8,000 candidates presented by one political party.

According to the economic analyst report, Rs.72 billion will have to be spent on the 24,000 candidates of the three main parties.

The analysts said this amount is about 50 percent of the cost to the government to provide facilities and states that if the country is in dire economic danger and does not recognize the priority and work, the entire country will have to pay the price.
