Excise Department marks its 110th anniversary

The Excise Department marks its 110th anniversary tomorrow (12).

It was first launched as the ‘Ceylon Excise Department’ in 1913.

The anniversary celebration will be held under the patronage of the State Minister of Finance Ranjith Siyambalapitiya and Commissioner General of Excise Saman Jayasinghe, at the department headquarters in Rajagiriya tomorrow.

The anniversary celebration will be telecast live on Facebook, the department said.

According to the department sources, the total revenue of the department in 2022 is Rs.17 billion and it expects to earn a revenue of Rs.217 billion this year.
