Drunk PC arrested over assault

A constable of the Dehiattakandiya Police who has allegedly been involved in assaulting the owner and his wife of the night  tea shop running near the Dehiattakandiya petrol station was arrested yesterday.

This Police constable named Kasun Pradeep Amarasinghe was remanded until yesterday after being produced in court. According to Police information, a group of four including this Police constable has come to the tea shop at around 1 am on January 5 and got into an argument with the owner.

According to the Police, he was drunk at that time and attacked the owner and his wife of the tea shop and ran away.
