The Modera Police said that seven boats and a lot of fishing gear at the Modera Fisheries Harbour were set on fire by a group, early morning on January 11.
Among the property destroyed in the fire were two boat engines of 40 and 25 Horse Power, and a large quantity of nets and other equipment.
The Modera Police said that they have not been able to find who set fire and destroyed these boats and fishing equipment.
The police were of the opinion that, setting of the fire could be an act of sabotage since there were boats belonging to several fishermen among those destroyed.
Police said that the officials of the crime scene laboratory had also visited the area for inspection and some suspicious items have been sent to the Government Analyst.
