Mannar youth roaming with Ice remanded in Kandy

A 17-year-old youth was arrested in Kandy by a team of officers from the Narcotics Bureau yesterday.

Police said this youth, a resident of Pesalai, Mannar, was arrested with 15 grams and 100 milligrams of “Ice” drug.

Narcotics Bureau officials asked him for his identity card to confirm his identity when he was behaving suspiciously in the city. But, he did not have any documents to confirm his identity at that time. Officers’ found ice drugs in his trouser pocket when inspecting him.

The suspect, Kaminath Kimilson, was remanded till January 27 after being produced before the Kandy Magistrate’s Court.
